A Huge success

We had a hugely successful day at the RDS during the BT Primary Science Fair.

Project Title: Can we drop an egg from a height and not let it break?

6th Class had lots of fun trying to design and make a package that would allow them to drop an egg from a height and leave the egg intact!!

It may seem like an impossible task but not for Gowran NS. We made loads of packages that were successful, we even dropped them from the rooftop.

The children studied theories by famous scientists such as Galileo and Newton. They considered factors such as gravity, air resistance, shock absorption, cushioning etc...

On the day we chose three designs to display at the fair. We were given an exhibition stand where people (including judges) asked us all about our experiment and we allowed them to test out the packages - not one egg was broken!

We received fantastic feedback from the judges and other people. At the end of the day, we were presented with a crystal plaque.

It was a fantastic day enjoyed by all.
