Third Class welcomed back Marika and this time she introduced the class to felt making. Marika showed the class different types of wool used in making felt and described the process to the class. The class were then busy designing their ideas and using felt to create their own individual piece. They also then worked in groups and created 4 scenes depicting the Norman Invasion in Ireland back in 1169. The children created some wonderful pieces and had great fun in the process. Many thanks to Marika for her expertise and help throughout her visits. Bhí rang a trí an ghnóthach ag scríobh leabhair as Gaeilge don thogra - Scríobh Léábhar. in groups the children brainstormed their ideas for their stories and then began writing their books. Once completed, the books were swapped with another school in Clonmel. The children had great fun reading their books. Every pupil received a certificate and a pencil case for taking part in the project. Three books were chosen by the other school and pupils who wrote these books went into the Watershed to receive a medal and certificate for their efforts. Not only that but they also got to hear the Irish band Seo Linn play there as well. Take a look at some of their work below. |
