Congratulations to all our pupils who recently participated in the "Write a Poem" initiative run by the Kilkenny Education Centre. Over 2,400 students took part and each school got to read poems written by pupils from another school and choose their favourites. Children from Junior Infants, First Class and Third Class in Gowran wrote amazing poems and have all received a lovely certificate for their work. Some lucky children won awards and an even luckier few had their poem included in a publication sponsored by the Heritage Office in Kilkenny County Council. The award winners include:
Ella Kenny, Junior Infants, for "My Dog Marbles",
Orla Brennan, Junior Infants, for "Giraffe",
Eoin Brennan, First Class Ms.Hayes, for "My Family"",
Ruairi Phelan, First Class Ms.Hayes, for "The Cattle Drover",
Alex Brennan, First Class Mrs.O'Keeffe, for "My Nanny",

Alicia Brennan, Third Class, for "Three Sisters",
