Yesterday, fifth class visited Gowran Abbey Nursing Home to sing ballads for the lovely residents there. Our class sang The Rose of Mooncoin, Black Velvet Band, Whiskey in the Jar, Cockles and Muscles, I'll Tell Me Ma, and Spanish Lady. Cormac Brogan sang The Foggy Dew. A resident named Paddy treated us to a rendition of ballad in which a gentleman laments for his love, Peggy. We were delighted with the recitation of a poem called 'The Little Donkey' by Tom. This was our third visit to the nursing home and an enjoyable experience was had by all!
