On Tuesday, December 16th, we began with the "Wriggly Nativity" performed by the Junior and Senior Infants to a packed school hall. This was followed by a special visit from Santa and Rudolph for Temple St. Hospital. There was great excitement as all the pupils lined up in the school yard to greet him on his arrival. We finished the day with a traditional carol service in which the pupils from 1st to 6th classes participated in poetry, readings and carols to convey the real meaning of Christmas. It was wonderful to see such a large, appreciative audience, many of whom who had also attended the Nativity earlier.
On Wednesday, December 17th, all the pupils took part in a Santa Walk up through the village as part of our Active Flag campaign. The walk culminated in a sing along of Christmas songs at the fountain before returning to school. Well done to the 5th and 6th class pupils who looked after Junior and Senior Infants with great care.
On Thursday, December 18th, the pupils from 5th class, accompanied by their teacher Ms. Tighe, visited Abbeygrove Nursing Home on what has become an annual visit to meet and entertain the residents.
Everyone was ready for a well earned holiday break!
