This term, the fifth class pupils created a project on a chosen US state. Ms. Tighe organised a skyping session with a 5th grade class in Hosper, Iowa.
We asked them questions about their food, culture, homes, hobbies and school life. In return they answered our questions about tornadoes, their dutch heritage and their school subjects. As their teacher had informed us that they are reading Eoin Colfer's 'Artemis Fowl' for their class novel, we demonstrated hurling and Irish dancing, as well as singing 'Pompeii' as Gaeilge. We were fascinated by their accents and how they wore no uniform. They are getting their holidays at the end of May. We thank them for participating in the skype session. Their class website is s http://hospers5th.shutterfly.com. Enjoy your summer boys and girls!
