An exciting tennis league was held throughout the month of June. The players were drawn in pairs and, after some initial practice matches, a hotly contested doubles competition took place at lunchtime every day. The pairings of Kyle Dreeling and Conor Cleere vs Morgan Kelly and Luke Doyle gave us an exciting final with the 6th class boys winning out in the end. Many thanks to Mrs. Joan Kennedy for organising and running this most enjoyable event. Olé, Olé, Olé, Olé..... World Cup fever has kicked off in Gowran N.S.. Cheers for Germany, Brazil, Italy and many other teams can be heard from the school yard. Children from Junior Infants to 3rd class are having great fun scoring goals and pulling off saves that would match those of Ronaldo and Messi :) |
