Paddy and the Mermaid
Once a farmer called Paddy was out picking spuds near a river. He was wearing his Dunlop wellies, a thick fur coat and was carrying an iron bucket full of spuds. Suddenly he seen something shining in the mud, it was a tiara! “Hey that’s my tiara!” someone shouted. Paddy looked around. “I’m in the water silly,” she said. A beautiful mermaid just rose up from the water. She had the most silky blonde hair. “Please hand me my tiara,” she asked. Paddy just stood there in awe. “Fine then,” she said as she stole the tiara and pushed Paddy in the water and swiftly swam off.
