Last summer holiday I went to a ancient gold mine in Egypt. I flew all the way from New York to Alexandria. I went with my dog woof woof. While touring the gold mine I found the lost Viola of Cleopatra. It had been missing for eons! While I was looking at the viola woof woof was searching for food.I brought it to the big museum and got a Euro from it and woof woof got a treat and a rub on his head. I went to a hotel and forgot woof woof and then I went back to get him then I went home.

It takes a lot to put forward a story for the 100WC and have it published here for everyone to see, so take a bow, Conor! Your story is terrific, it took me on a much needed adventure!! I also loved the mix of the images of Egypt and Cleopatra... along side the simple actions of Woof Woof! My favourite phrase was 'It had been missing for eons!' What a cracking word... 'eons'! An excellent first 100WC, Conor! Well done!

Welcome to the 100 word challenge Conor! I love reading and viewing stories about Egypt so am well pleased that that's where you chose to place your precious viola.
Instead of 'While touring the gold mine I found ......' I wonder if you could have given your reader a better feel of the dust and heat with 'While touring the gold mine I left the rest of the group behind and ventured further into the dusty depths .......' What do you think?
Thanks for sharing,
Jackie (Team 100WC)
