As I fled my heart stopped racing and I knew almost at once it had been a figment of my imagination.
One chilly November evening as I was walking down by the river I had an unearthly feeling that someone was watching me. I turned up my collar, thinking that maybe I was just cold but the sense of panic just grew and grew. I looked over my shoulder hoping for dear life that it was only a rabbit, but to my dismay I saw a tall shadow. As the shadow began to move, that’s when I knew I should run...

What a visual 100WC story, Lucy! It was like I was turning pages of a picture book, each sentence revealing the next picture! It was enhanced by the commentary of the feeling of unease that grew within the main character as the story progressed. And for it all to have been the fault of the imagination! It gave me a great laugh! Reminded me of the memory of the first time I was left home alone as a child... only to get a big fright when I saw my own reflection in a mirror! The senses can play tricks when we think that something is wrong when it is not!! Really enjoyed your 100WC, Lucy! Well done!
