The night sky illuminated the autumnal leaf covered floor. The bandit like fur masked raccoon emerged from the dense foliage of the box hedge which lined the methodical row of chairs in the park. The portly nocturnal mammal leads the congregation of creatures as they furtively depart the comfort of Central Park, where they prowl the noisy streets in pursuit of an edible and scrumptious meal. The clusters of raccoons scamper across the frenetic, bustling street, determined to get that midnight feast. Their masked appearance seems more suitable to robbing a bank rather than stealing a flavoursome horde of food.

Now that is a writing style Tom McCaughren would have been proud of!! Tom was an Irish author who wrote seven books on the adventures of foxes. When I saw the five words of the prompt, I have to say I figured I'd struggle this week... but where I saw a struggle, you saw a challenge, Orla! This story would be relished by an illustrator for a picture book... you have all the hard work done with the rich, descriptive language! You have demonstrated your ability to write yet another form of narrative again this week! Your hard work is clearly evident and it allows the reader an experience of the life of a city raccoon that is rarely seen by humans. Well done, Orla!!
