On March 1974, a group of peasants were digging in northwest China. They found clay figures which turned out to be one of the greatest discoveries of all time. Near the unexcavated tomb of Qi Shi Huang di Who declared himself the first emperor of China in 221 B.C lays an amazing underground treasure. An entire army of 8,000 life size terracotta soldiers and horses! That is supposed to be over the age of 2,200 years old! The purpose of them being built was to protect the emperor in his afterlife. The terracotta soldiers and horses were made with pottery!

Isn't it an incredible story Orla! You have written a great article explaining the origin of the Terracotta Warriors! You have used great vocabulary to stimulate our interest and have kept the detail sufficient enough so we are learning about something new. Well done Orla!
