I was walking down the road, basking in the heat from the sun when I saw a young man bending down beside a beautiful flower.
I was curious to know what he was doing so I moved closer. I saw there was a big hole dug in the ground beside the flower.
There was a big bag of rubbish in the hole. I looked up and saw a sign that said ‘No Dumping’.
I said, “You shouldn’t be doing that!” and he said “It doesn’t matter what you think, does it?” Then he gave the flower a kick and ran.

'Basking in the heat of the sun'! That phrase caught my attention as a reader and I knew this would be a well written story! A great choice of two contrasting characters... one with such an appreciation of nature and the other with complete disregard! I felt that I was a bystander which is a great credit to you as a writer. A solid story with efficient use of all your words. Great skill to combine the prompts too. Well done Lucy!
