Hundreds of years ago viola was lost and over the past years people had searched for it but no one had ever come close to finding it. I decided to search for it but I was a step ahead of everyone else. I had an ancient map I found the previous year. With this advantage I started our search at the castle. I followed the map to the old church graveyard. I noticed an odd headstone so I started investigating. I looked under a flower pot where I found a key, there was a keyhole on the headstone and I opened it although I didn’t find a viola we found gold!!

Well done Eimear! For me, it is some of the phrases that elevate this from good story to great story! '...no one had ever come close..', '... I was a step ahead of everyone else'... and 'With this advantage...' It showed your development and progress from just writing to say what happened... to an engaging storyteller. Looking back over your stories Eimear, you demonstrate different writing skills in different stories which is great to see and shows the great potential that you have! Such an enjoyable story, Eimear!

Hi Eimear
You had me on tenterhooks the whole way through your 100 word challenge as I waited for you to find the viola. You set the scene very well telling your reader about the viola which was lost hundreds of years ago and, when I read that you had a map, I really thought you were going to find the viola. I loved how you introduced different settings eg the castle and the Church graveyard. You also created a huge sense of tension in your final lines from noticing the odd headstone to checking under the flower pot and finding the key and I still thought you were going to find the viola right until your last line and then what a twist in the story! You found gold instead of the viola. I actually sat back and said WOW! Well done. Excellent creative writing for the 100 word challenge this week..
