Emma and Rachel went outside into the dark night, they decided to head to the forest. ``Emma I don`t think this is a good idea,” said Rachel. ``We`ll be fine don`t be a chicken,” replied Emma. As the girls disappeared into the forest it grew darker and darker. Alot of animals sneak around the forest at night and Rachel was really scared. Next thing they saw an animal that looked like some sort of monster! The girls screamed so loudly but no one heard them. Rachel jumped into Emma`s arms. Then they realised it was a buffalo and they ran.

A great story with two great characters! I loved how Emma and Rachel had two different personalities... the dare devil and the cautious friend! You build up the atmosphere by planting the seed in the mind of the reader with 'A lot of animals sneak around the foest at night'. I could almost hear the sinister soundtrack that would be added to a film with this scene! The story reached its peak with the arrival of 'some sort of monster!'
My favourite part of the story was Rachel jumping into Emma's arms! It reminded me of a regular scene in ScoobyDoo! The buffalo was a great image to end the story... I would have ran too if confronted with a buffulo in the dark of night! It also added extra detail to the setting of the story, instantly giving the reader a greater feel of intrigue!
I realise as I read back on this comment that lots of sentences have an exclamation mark after them!! I think this shows how much I enjoyed reading it!
