One lonely night, two little girls called Eimear and Róisín decided to wander into the dark and scary woods. It was just past midnight, the poor little girls were terrified of the dark but they assured each other they would be fine. They heard some scary and weird noises . Then in the blink of the night, they saw a weird creature lurking in the trees, they were terrified. As they were approaching the end of the woods, they heard a mysterious hoot from the tree. It was an owl who was warning them to run and they were never seen again.

Congratulations on your first 100 Word Challenge, Aoife! Your characters took a bold risk heading into the woods at night! What really brought your story to life was the terrific vocabulary you used: 'wander', 'terrified', 'assured', 'weird', 'blink', 'lurking', 'approaching', mysterious' and 'warning'. I loved the personification of the owl... giving him the human ('person') quality of warning the girls. It takes great skill to only use 100 words for a story but you nailed it! Well done, Aoife!
