100 Word Challenge: Welcome

20/4/2020

Welcome!
See the previous post (just scroll down) if you are interested in writing a story! Anyone can do it... even if your teacher didn't put it on your distance learning work.
For this post, I want to focus on how to write a positive comment!
I had been working on writing skills (see blue boxes) with fourth class but I know other classes had done the same! These skills have the fancy name 'figurative language' (see purple box). These are explained in the image below:
Picture
So my suggestion for how to add a positive comment on a story is to find an example of one of these skills and tell the writer how it made their story interesting!
If someone had 'Bully Bob threw Silly Sam a dirty look.' then you can comment by saying 'I enjoyed the names you used for your characters... good use of alliteration!
If someone had 'Joe ran to the river as fast a lightning.' then you can comment by saying 'Your sentence using a simile helped me to picture the story.'
Pick one sentence or part of the story and say why you liked it!
